Week 14 Review
I watched a video about emojis. In the video, the speaker talked about if emojis are a language and what all do they communicate? Also, what are their meanings or sub meanings per see? He talks about emojis being a way to communicate things that text messages do not clearly communicate. Examples being emotions, gestures, or other things that texts do not communicate compared to in-person communication. Emojis can also mean a number of different things to different people and different cultures. In a way, they can be described as "inside jokes" in that way that they can have personal meaning depending on the people communicating. I really like the comparison of emojis to hieroglyphics. It is just an interesting thought. Emojis are also evolving to include different races, emotions, actions, items, etc. As emojis evolve, it can be assumed they will grow as a way to communicate and express oneself. Maybe even become a language one day. Super interesting video!
